Kurz nach 06:00 Uhr... ein Glockenton ertönt in der Kabine. Aber keine Ansage. Alle sind auf. Auch Lisa Lutoff-Perlo war davon betroffen, so in der Mittagsansage des Kapitäns. Aber wo ist eigentlich der Lautsprecher...

In the afternoon, the German Rap-/Hip-Hop-Song sounded again from the toilet.



Nachmittags ertönt wieder der deutsche Rap-/Hip-Hop-Song aus der Toilette.

Ich wende mich an die Rezeption. Es sei bekannt. Und man würde den Song heute zum letzten Mal hören, weil die Proben abgeschlossen seien. Ich kann einfach den Schalter unterhalb des Spiegels bedienen, damit ich nichts mehr höre. Wenn ich zu blöd sein sollte, um den Schalter zu finden, soll ich mich an meine Kabinenstewardess wenden. Sie würde mir zeigen, wo der Schalter wäre (Regel Nr. 1 der Kommunikation: nicht das was man sagt ist entscheidend, sondern das was ankommt...). Auf jeden Fall ist wohl Camila auch ziemlich blöd, denn auch sie findet keinen Schalter.



I went to the reception. It was known. And we would hear the song for the last time today because the tests were finished. I could just use the switch below the mirror so I would not hear anything anymore. I was wondering I might be too stupid to find the switch, and I should contact my cabin stewardess to find. She would show me where the switch would be (rule # 1 of communication: not what you said counted but what you noticed...). In any case, Camila was probably pretty stupid, because she also did not find the switch either.

But together we found out that the speaker was actually right next to the toilet. So I had no brain tumor. I did not imagine anything. Another inquiry showed: you could not control the volume, of course, because everyone had to hear the announcements, no matter whether you took a shower or were on the balcony...



Gemeinsam finden wir jedoch heraus, dass der Lautsprecher tatsächlich direkt neben dem Klo sich befindet. Doch kein Hirntumor. Ich habe mir nichts eingebildet. Eine weitere Rückfrage ergab: man kann natürlich die Lautstärke nicht regeln, weil jeder die Ansagen hören muss, egal ob man duscht oder auf dem Balkon steht...

Es geht zum Frühstück. ENDLICH bekomme ich ein Kräuterrührei aus frischem Ei. ENDLICH bekomme ich auch die Beilagen zu Oatmeal. Und ENDLICH bekomme ich Cranberry-Saft-Schorle, weil Dejan Todorovski bereit ist, mir eine von einer Bar zu besorgen, die ich bezahlen muss. Ich habe meinen persönlichen Helden im American Icon gefunden.



I went for breakfast. FINALLY, I got a scrambled egg with herbs from a fresh egg. FINALLY, I also got the side condiments to Oatmeal. And FINALLY, I got cranberry juice spritzer because Dejan Todorovski was willing to get me one from a bar that I had to pay for. I found my personal hero in the American Icon.

Today, it was calm again, and warm, and so I went outside, to follow the activities at RipCord.



Heute ist es wieder ruhig und warm und so geht es wieder aus, um beim RipCord zuzusehen.



And it was so warm and calm, that I could make my parents joining me to that area.



Und es ist so warm und ruhig, dass ich sogar schaffe, meine Eltern in diesen Bereich zu führen.

So bleiben wir ein paar Minuten stehen und gucken auch beim FlowRider zu.

Zu meiner Überraschung macht meinen Eltern das Zugucken sogar Spaß.

Mittags geht es ins Solarium in das Devinly Decandence. Irgendwie habe doch noch einen Tisch bekommen. Da mir immer gesagt wird: "Für Sie haben wir immer einen Tisch" und ich frage mich natürlich, wie ich das verstehen soll. Ich war im Roll-Call nicht aktiv. Erst wenige Tage vor Abfahrt habe ich gemeldet. Einen englischen Blog von Royal Caribbean gibt es bislang nicht und so weiß eigentlich niemand an Bord, wer ich bin. Egal - ich freue mich über den Tisch. Kennt jemand die SAT.1-Sendung "The Biggest Loser"?. Also ich habe mir die Sendung nicht angesehen, weil ich lieber in der ersten Reihe bei ARD und ZDF sitze... Das Original-Format von "The Biggest Loser" läuft im US-Sender NBC. Devin Alexander (deswegen "Devinly Decadence") ist einer der begleitenden Köchinnen des US-Fernsehformats. Sie hat selbst 32 kg Gewicht verloren und eine Menge Diät-Kochbücher geschrieben. Normalerweise kostet es mittags eine Zuzahlung, aber im Moment wird auf die Erhebung verzichtet. Man sieht schon den großen Unterschied: Kaum Kohlenhydrate: so gibt es statt Brot, frisches Gemüse mit einem leckeren Zwiebel-Dip, den ich bis zum Ende behalte, falls ich alles andere nicht essen kann. Statt normalem Pizzateig gibt es wohl einen hauchdünnen, knusprigen und sehr leckeren Vollkornteig mit einem sehr gesunden Belag ohne fetten Käse oder Wurst, sondern magerem Hühnchen, leckerem Gemüse und einer leckeren Sauce. Die Suppen waren alle gut. Mein Vater ist von meiner Suppe so begeistert, dass er sie mir abjagt. Das Rindergulasch war super mager und extrem gut gewürzt, weil es sehr mager ist. Die Gurken sind hauchdünn gehobelt, so dass ich es gut essen kann. Man merkt, dass die Kuh, aus der der Hamburger gemacht wurde, auch auf Diät gesetzt war. Es ist anders gewürzt, weil Fett als Geschmacksträger fehlt. Man muss ich erst daran gewöhnen. Außergewöhnlich gut: Die Salate mit den Riesengarnelen. Viele Gäste bestellen sich sogar zwei Portionen davon. Ich kratze mir die Hühnchen aus der Enchilada. Den Rest kann ich leider nicht essen. Zwischendurch kommt einer aus dem Vorstand von RCI vorbei und sieht sofort, dass die Serviette auf dem Eiskübel nicht korrekt gefaltet ist und sofort wurde die Serviette neu gefaltet. Serkan Ates hat uns einen tollen Service geboten. Da es Probleme gab, bestimmte Artikel in Europa zu beschaffen, ist von der Dessertkarte nicht alles verfügbar. Sertan bringt uns einfach alles zum Probieren. Man schmeckt, dass weniger Kohlenhydrate drin sind. Es schmeckt weniger süß und schokoladiger. Interessanterweise stellen unabhängig voneinander, dass etwas salziges in einem Dessert ist. Sertan will eine Portion heute noch dem Chefkoch geben, damit er das mal prüft.



For lunch we went to the Solarium into Devinly Decadence. Somehow I still got a table. As I was always told: "We always have a table for you" and of course I wondered how I should understand that. I was not active in the roll call. Only a few days before departure, I started to post. So far, there was no English blog from Royal Caribbean, so nobody on board really knew who I was. No matter - I was happy about the table. "The Biggest Loser" was shown on NBC. Devin Alexander (therefore Devinly Decadence) was one of the accompanying cooks of the US television show. She lost 71 lbs. herself and wrote a lot of diet cooking books. Usually, they had an extra charge at noon, but at the moment it was waived. You could already see a big difference: hardly any carbs: so instead of bread, there were fresh vegetables with a delicious onion dip, which I kept until the end of the cruise when I could not eat anything else. Instead of regular pizza dough, there was probably a wafer-thin, crispy and delicious wholegrain dough with a very healthy topping. No fat cheese or sausage, but lean chicken, delicious vegetables and a delicious sauce. The soups were all good. My dad was so excited about my soup that he also took mine. The beef goulash was super skinny and extremely flavorful because it was very lean. The cucumbers were thinly shaved, so I could eat it easily. You could see that the cow from the hamburger was also put on a diet. It was seasoned differently because there was not any fat as a carrier of flavor. First, I had to get used to it. Exceptionally good: the salads with the giant shrimps. Many guests even ordered two portions of it. I picked the chicken from the enchilada. Unfortunately, I could not eat the rest. Meanwhile, one member of the board of RCI came over and saw immediately that the napkin on the ice bucket was not folded correctly and immediately the napkin was folded anew. Serkan Ates gave us a great service. Since they had problems to purchase certain ingredients in Europe, not all desserts on the menu were available. Sertan brought us everything to try. You could taste that there were fewer carbohydrates. It tasted less sweet and more chocolate intense. It was interesting that all of us noticed independently, that something in the dessert made it salty. Sertan wanted to give a serving today to the chef to could double check.

In general, we loved it, and so we tried to get another table for dinner.



Insgesamt hat es uns so gut gefallen, dass wir versuchen noch einen Tisch für ein Abendessen zu bekommen.

Ein paar Bilder für Kids on Cruise (gibt es in der Form nicht mehr). Wir haben zwar selbst keine Kinder, aber wenn ich eh am Fotografieren bin, können sie auch von denen genutzt werden.

I went again to the Windjammer Café since they also had a coffee bar too. Finally, they set up dispensers for hand sanitizers.



Ich gehe mal ins Windjammer Café, weil es auch hier eine Kaffeebar gibt. Endlich sind Handdesinfektions-Spender aufgestellt.

Jemand bittet mich um "Industriespionage"... Ich hoffe bloß nicht, dass dieser jemand auch versucht Bruno so eine Barista-Kaffeemaschine zu verkaufen. Das ist zu groß für uns zu Hause!!!



Someone asked me for "industrial espionage"... I truly hoped that this person would try to sell Bruno this Barista coffee machine. That would be too large for home!!!

Well... obviously, they were in trouble, because not all guests were informed appropriately on the time changes. For the remainder of the voyage, they listed all days when it would be necessary to change the time.



Tja... es gab wohl etwas Ärger, weil am Anfang der Reise nicht alle Gäste die richtigen Informationen bekommen haben, wann die Uhren umgestellt werden. So wird einfach für den Rest der Reise alle Tage genannt, an denen die Uhren umgestellt werden.

Heute bekommen wir einen Einkaufsbeutel in Form der North Star Kapsel geschenkt.

After I posted on the subject 15% service charge on food, someone asked if the 15% also would apply to items from La Patisserie. So I went down. That might be the only item, I could eat.



Nach dem Posting über die 15% Service Charge auf Speisen werde ich gefragt, ob auch 15% im La Patisserie anfallen. So gehe ich runter. Das dürfte das einzige sein, das ich essen kann.

Heute gibt es fünf Stück für 4,50 USD (2014).

And I was doing more "industrial espionage"... but that would be too large for our kitchen. Instead, we would have Nescafé at home than this barista coffee machine.



Und ich betreibe wieder "Industriespionage"... aber die ist zu groß für unsere Küche. Eher kommt Nescafé ins Haus, statt dieser Barista-Maschine.



In the evening we returned to Silk. We were already forewarned, and so we said directly while we were ordering that we would rather have something less Western. No idea if it would work. Only the won tons without meat I did not like too much. But otherwise, we were delighted. I was able to eat the soup very well and ordered one more. The tofu was also nice and soft. My parents were happy with dim sum (with fish and not with pork) and the ribs. Also, the perch and the duck were delicious. We barely had space for the dessert, but so we shared one to try. Our waiter Neemesh Bhekur was excellent!!! The little pancakes which came with the duck, my dad found them really good, because for him it tasted like childhood. Neemesh got some more for my dad, who happily took it to his cabin. Unfortunately the restaurant was not available for lunch, and unfortunately, we did not have so many evenings to do here another visit.



Abends geht es wieder ins Silk. Wir wurden ja schon vorgewarnt und so sagen wir direkt bei der Bestellung, dass wir es lieber etwas weniger westlich hätten. Keine Ahnung, ob es genutzt hat. Nur die Wan-Tans ohne Fleisch finde ich nicht so gut. Aber sonst sind wir sehr zufrieden. Ich kann die Suppe sehr gut essen und bestelle sie mir nochmals. Der Tofu ist auch schön weich. Meine Eltern sind mit den Dim Sum (mit Fisch und nicht mit Schwein) und mit den Rippchen waren sie zufrieden. Auch der Barsch und die Ente sind sehr gut. Wir haben kaum noch Platz für das Dessert, aber so teilen wir uns eines, um zu probieren. Unser Kellner Neemesh Bhekur ist spitze!!! Die Teigfladen, die mit der Ente serviert wurden, findet mein Vater richtig gut, weil es für ihn nach Kindheit schmeckt. Neemesh hat noch ein paar für meinen Vater geholt, der ganz glücklich das mit in seine Kabine genommen hat. Leider steht das Restaurant mittags nicht zur Verfügung und so viele Abende haben wir leider nicht mehr, um nochmals den Besuch hier zu wiederholen.
